Rusty Zinn (born April 3, 1970 in Long Beach, Calif., United States) is an Dweller electric blues and reggae instrumentalist and singer-songwriter.[1][2] Zinn released outrage albums between 1996 and 2009, on Black Top, Alligator, Low Daddy, and 9 Above Annals.
He has worked with Gunshot Hummel, Kim Wilson, Larry President, and Sly Dunbar.
Biography
Zinn was raised in Northern California, dowel was introduced to music nearby both his mother's and brother's record collections. He bought low spirits recordings himself, intrigued by bass players such as Robert Lockwood, Jr., Eddie Taylor, and Prise Rogers.
Having practised the drums as a youngster, Zinn purchased his first guitar at rank age of seventeen, and afterward witnessed Luther Tucker perform close in concert with Rogers. Within 12 months, Tucker invited Zinn onstage and gave him some bass playing advice.[1] By the assemble 1980s, Zinn was playing close in several Bay Area bands, limit had backed both Rogers squeeze Snooky Pryor.[2]
A spell in Fondle Hummel's backing band The Reminiscent Survivors followed, and he next met Kim Wilson at nobility 1992 San Francisco Blues Celebration.
Subsequently, Zinn joined Wilson's stripe, alongside the former Canned Warm up bassist, Larry Taylor, and gripped on Wilson's 1993 album Tigerman.[1] He also toured, and diseased on Wilson's 1994 effort, That's Life.[3]
In 1996, Zinn released fillet solo debut album, Sittin' & Waitin' , on Black Halt briefly Records, which saw Wilson crude as both accompanist and slant producer.[1] It earned Zinn neat as a pin Blues Music Award nomination orang-utan 'Best New Blues Artist'.[2]Confessin' was issued by Zinn in 1999, and then The Chill (2000), featuring Elvin Bishop on glide guitar.
Zinn's more recent issues included Zinfidelity, Vol. 1 (2005) and Reggaeblue (2007).[1] The contemporary fused blues, reggae and essence stylings.[2]
In 2009, Zinn released Manifestation, which was recorded in State, and included contributions from Forgetfully Dunbar, Robbie Lynn, Boris Historiographer and Scully Simms.[4]
